Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay born on 15 September 1976, was a prominent Bengali writer of short stories and novels. He is one of the most translated and adapted Indian writer of all times. He has written about the struggle and lifestyle of the village people and social practices of Bengal.
Sarat Chandra got his love of literature and imagination from his father, Motilal Chattopadhyay, who was an idler and dreamer and held irregular jobs. Sarat Chandra started writing in his early teens after finishing his formal education.
Sarat Chandra has written many novellas, novels and stories.
